The second ham is out of the salt and now we just need to wait 9-12 months!

The second ham is now out of the salt and got a good wash down with the hose to get all the salt off it. Its been 32 days in the box of salt.I patted it dry with a tea-towel and tomorrow I will wipe it down with some white vinegar and then hang it up to dry.The problem with the flies is going to start in the next couple of months so will need to have a couple of muslin sacks made up. These will fit loosely around the hams allowing the wind to pass through but hopefully keep the flies away from laying their eggs.
