First national broadcaster interview on Newstalk

I was asked by Josh Crosbie from Newstalk to do an interview for a segment he was preparing for World Bee Day 2021 for the Hard Shoulder Show.

Josh arrived at the farm and it lashed rain and was very cold. You can probably hear the rain pelting off the roof in the honey house. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get Josh into a bee suit and let him see the bees.

We did manage to have a good chat about bees and honey production in Ireland as a small business starting off as a commercial bee farmer.

As it was World Bee Day we talked about the importance of all our pollinators in Ireland and their important role in biodiversity and how we need to provide more wild life areas for them.

We tasted a few of the different honeys including the heather honey from the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains.

You can listen back to the show here and I’m in the last segment
