Saturday out checking the Wicklow bees

Out checking the Wicklow #bees this morning before the wind and rain got too bad.

I hadn't been around to see them since the 8th January, where is the time going won't be long now until I'll be checking all the hives every week again.

The first pic is the orchard on the Powerscourt Estate these trees are very old.

2nd pic shows a close up of the lichens that's growing on the trees, they don't do the trees any harm. They're self sustaining so don't take anything from the trees but a lichen is a symbiotic relationship between an algae and a fungus. They're also used as an indicator of pollution and air quality

The last pic is the hives on the river walk

I got back to enjoy the 2nd half of the rugby!
